Alodine 2040

Surface treatment of aluminium and its alloys.

- Improves paint adhesion
- Maintains unchanged over time the electrical resistivity of the alloy used
- Low resistance to salt fog
- Increases glue adhesion
- CHROMIUM-free

Properties and characteristics
The ALODINE 2040 treatment generates a chromium-free coating on aluminium and its alloys.
Depending on the application conditions and aluminium alloys treated, a colourless to bluish iridescent coating is obtained.
The coating obtained is an excellent priming coat for paints; it ensures excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance of the finished product.
Each alloy reacts with the ALODINE 4830-31 bath to yield a coating that is characteristic for that alloy.
It is important to keep this in mind if one contemplates assembling various alloys for parts to be left unpainted for aesthetic purposes.
The deposit is chromium-free.

Applications
Mechanical, electromechanical, aviation, space, agricultural, nautical, etc.

Operating conditions
It can be used as a priming coat for paints, glues, and inks.
